I'd finally made it to the beach on the point, the sun was out, bit breezy but good light, certainly good enough to stand out there for,........... a while :)
Lots of Sandwich Terns around, a few Gannets further out.
Beautiful and noisy birds to watch, they are amazing flyers. Other birds were available of course but I enjoyed practicing panning and tracking with the Terns, I'm terrible at it.
A bit of a commotion drew our attention to a Common Buzzard heading for the Black Isle with a Crow harassing it on its way.
I mentioned the Gannets earlier, there were a few more now, mostly further out and I was hoping to catch some diving shots, not today.
There always seems to be Red-breasted Merganser around out here, sometimes round by the town. Stood chatting to Mark for a while, not a lot of Dolphin activity and not a huge amount of bird action either so, off I went along the back shore towards the ranges.
I love walking around the ranges when we're into true Spring and Summer, there's so much wildlife activity.
I generally take a couple to three hours wandering about then head back to toon so we can all head out and do something, my last shot of this walk was one of the many butterflies now appearing and great to see.
A fast walk back from the ranges to the car, parked by the sports field gate and home again.
