Just looking at the photos I need to edit for this page, I took a few! Out and about by 07:40, it was a chilly morning again, it is only March though.
I parked at the sports field gates and headed for the shore again, I've started switching on Merlin when I first get out of the car, see what it hears, not that it's prefect by any means but just as a wee check, see what might be around.

I'm a sucker for a nice sky and it doesn't always translate well into a photograph.

Now, I've had a very pleasant surprise down here before, an Otter feeding on the shore but, I did not expect to see this. Skittering across my path, bouncing over the wet grass, this wee Stoat stopped behind the car for a wee look at what I was doing!
It didn't hang about long, three shots and it was gone!

I think I've mentioned Hooded Crows a few times? ;) There's a pair up here that are Hooded Crow x Carrion Crow, I saw them last year with young ones.

Mrs Hoodie?

I don't know why but, I think of the Hooded crow as the female?
Another wee bird there's never a shortage of around the fort and ranges is the Pipit, Rock and Meadow

I love walking right around the fort, when the tide allows, it's rarely busy and I hope that never changes.

Sleep with one eye open

Not everyone likes our weather, apparently it is THE topic of conversation in the UK but, it's actually wonderful. I don't think I could live where the weather rarely changes, constant sunshine would be boring.

Solitude

I can spend hours around here silence, peace and views and wildlife to die for. Again, when the tide allows, I like to walk right along the shore to the radar then up onto the ranges, a completely different set of birds up there.
I spotted a clump of 'shrooms as I clambered off the beach and onto the ranges.

Still on the beach but looking up into the gorse and trees of the ranges.
